Concept Project - Nexa

The Nexa Project was an internal Samsung project. A presentation was made to Samsung Headquarters in Seoul, Korea, showing how integration of appliances and digital technology can support existing consumer’s experience.

Scenarios

Following a user throughout his day. Taking into consideration his tasks,

home appliances, and technology.

1. Ellen is watching RR cooking show, she taps on the tablet for a pop-up of the recipe 

2. Ellen adds this recipe to her “Favorites” 

3. Refrigerator inventory asks whether Ellen wants to purchase missing ingredients 

4. Ellen adds missing items for the recipe to her existing grocery shopping list, and checks out 

5. An alert pops up that laundry is done 

1. Ellen selects “Control” on the menu 

2. Ellen selects Smart Grid 

3. A list of Smart Grid statistics is displayed 

1. Ellen is in the “Cook Book” menu and taps on “Favorites”

5. Ellen swipes to the left to see the next step in the recipe 

6. Ellen puts the pot on the cooker and turns it on. She then activates the timer with a circular hand gesture. 

7. The timer starts counting down and the video moves on to the next instruction 

8. Ellen receives a video call from her mom. She “Accepts” the call with the positive geture. (clockwise) 

9. Image of Ellen’s mom diplays in full screen; cooking video is minimize in the foreground for easy access 

10. Tablet alerts time’s up and prompts whether the cooker should be turned off, with a hand gesture
